ACTI-CHIEN SLEDGE RACING Sledge racing are famous. The training of the dogs began in little group with a kart of 40 kg and the weight of the musher in addition, that is to say 100 kg. Then they work with older dogs that give them experience. When they run faster enough, they drag a kart more heavy called quad. The distances covered depend of the category you choice. There is an ultumate selection to choice the dogs the more tough. The training require more than 1000
kilometers for a team in illimited category. THE CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION OF SLEDGE
RACING Sprinting : with four dogs : 2 or 3 parts of 8 km each one. with 6 dogs : 2 or 3 parts of 12 km each one. with 8 dogs : 2 or 3 parts of 15 km each one. Unlimited
: 7 dogs at least : 2 or 3 parts of 20 km at least each
one. Averaged distance : 6 or 8 dogs according to the competitions : 40 km to 100 km each part. Unlimited
: 7 dogs at least : 40 to 100 km each part.
Long distance : 6 or 8 dogs according to the competitions. More than 100 km by part of racing and more than 160 km if there is only one part in the racing. Unlimited

The law modified N°84-610 of July 16th 1984 about the sport fix the bounds in which take place the obligatory insurance in sport. Sledge racing and countrycross accompagnating by dog were recognized in accordance with decree N°85-237 of february 13th 1985 relating to approval of sport groups and sports federations as physical and sports activities. So these exercices are subjected to articles 37 and 38 of the law of July 16th of 1984 (Ministerial answer N°21317. JOAN Q August 7th 1995, P.3460). These
