because the master, passive or accepting this behavior, let his dog to take bad habit of aggressiveness. He doesn't control his dog. This one thinks his master agrees with his attitude.

The safest thing would be to wrap up your arm in your jacket, to aviod to ache, and to present it to the animal when he arrives for he catches it. People that is not a trainer doesn't know how to make a dog to lose his grip. So you'll respite waiting for the police or help. You'll abandon your jacket while the master keep his dog with his lead, so that you mouve away in all security, and knowing that the master will not dare to ask his dog to attack again (in case it is not the dog that decided to attack).

To protect you, you can put your coat or your jacket between you and the dog. He will eventually bites in it.

For both of these solutions, you must be healthy and strong to resist at the shakes given by the dog.

So there are other solutions :

You can open your umbrella when the dog arrives. The spreading in front of his eyes risks to surprise him, and you hold your umbrella between you and it, until he moves away, or his master keep him.

A better solution is to buy, in a joke shop, a spray projecting serpentine. You must shake it before to use it. Every time the dog comes, you project the serpentine toward him. Everything arriving quickly towards his eyes surprises him and he will keep at a distance and then move away.

This last solution is the safer especially if you are with someone or your own dog.

In any cases you never have to run away. The shouts and everything mooving agitate dogs and their hunter instinct push them to pursue and bite you.

Some people think that if they stare at the dog he will run away. It is probably true for some people and not for other. It happens that the dog feels it like a provocation ; but it's possible that he feels the fact to turn one's eyes away like weakness.

If you look vacantly in front of you without moving, there is no exchange between you and the dog. It's the better to do if you are not self-assured.

If someone is attacked and bitten :

You never have to pull the dog back with his collar or his lead to make the dog to loose his grip !

In fact he will tighten his jaws instead of loose his grip.

You can pinch his back paws (ONLY IN THIS CASE AND BECAUSE SOMEONE IS IN DANGER) and then to freeze and take a faraway look when he look back waiting he goes.

ATTENTION

If you learn a dog to loose his grip like that in any case, you will learn him to turn over and bite, you like anyone, if someone is behind him and surpises him.
