When you buy a dog in France the breeder is required to give you :

A certificate of sale signed by the breeder and by the buyer, or a certificate of donation if the dog is given,
You sign and fill in with the breeder the card of tattooing. The breeder leaves you a part of the card and send the other part to the SOCIETE CENTRALE CANINE that send you your new card of tattooing with your name and your addrress on. this card prove that the dog is yours. If you vanish your dog and someone find him, he will call the SOCIETE CENTRALE CANINE that will give your number of phone and your address, and the person who find your dog will contact you to return him.
A certificate of birth if it is a puppy or if it is not "Confirmé".
The pedigree is the dog is "Confirmé".

THE DOCUMENTS A BREEDER GIVES YOU WHEN YOU BUY A DOG IN FRANCE

Socialize your dog between about six weeks and three month. Carry him in a rucksack in public place. Avoid that someone touch him and don't put him on the ground , for his health, if he is not vaccinated.
