Even he uproots your plants, go together to put the plants again in earth without to lose your temper, because it would increase his curiosity, the pleasure to tease you to make you play with him and even, his lealousy facing your plants that interest you so much more than him. Because of this last reason, play with him after taking care of your plants and give your dog and your plants equally the same time. With time, he will take no further interest in your plants that he will not see as rivals and will not have any secrets for him because you will do some gardering together.
