CALCULATION OF FEED The energy of your dog depends on his age. It is what we call energy and maintenance requirement (BEE in french : Besoin énergétique d'entretien). We must apply to this value, various coefficients according to physiological state, environment and individual caracteristic of your dog. For example if your dog is castrated or if your female is sterilized, you subtract around 30% from the result obtained to avoid he or she get bigger. It is the reason why it is better to determine the feed of your dog with the veterinary. the energy requirement depend more on the body surface than the weight of your dog. The formula following allows to estimate in satisfactory way the energy requirement of a lapdog : BEE = 132 x P0,75 P = weight of the dog. Let's take as example a dog of a weight of 30 KG : BEE = 132 x 300,75 = 1692 Kcal (kilocalories) The ENA (nitrogen-free extract) is the rate of carbohydrates usable. ENA
